How to Choose Amerigroup!

It's easy! Here are the steps:

After you enroll in NJ FamilyCare, you'll get a packet of information from the County Welfare Agency (CWA) or NJ FamilyCare telling you about choosing a health plan. To choose Amerigroup, just follow one of the steps below:


Call or go to the CWA office in your area. These offices are listed in your member handbook.

NJ FamilyCare

There are a number of ways to choose us:

  • Call NJ FamilyCare at 1-800-701-0710 (TTY 1-800-701-0720) to enroll by phone (be sure to listen carefully to the prompts) or
  • Call NJ FamilyCare to set up an appointment with a Health Benefits Coordinator at a local community site or
  • Fill out the NJ FamilyCare Plan Selection Form that came with your packet and return it in the postage-paid envelope provided

If you're already in a health plan

You can switch to Amerigroup during the Annual Open Enrollment Period from October 1 to November 15 each year.
